STRUCTURE
* The public S3 bucket location is 's3://doc-trail-camera-footage'
* Within the bucket is a folder called 'AI_training'.  
* Within 'AI_training', the three-letter folder names represent different datasets (some of which may be 'related', for example R01, R20, R23 etc. may contain some of the same camera locations). A dataset is based on a project.
* The species subfolders in each dataset folder contain .JPG files of the relevant species.
* On the few occassions where there are >50,000 images per species/dataset, additional subfolders were used. 
* All file names are globally unique (mostly GUID)  

FILE INFORMATION
* In the EXIF data from each file, "ImageDescription" contains information regarding [dataset]__[camerasite]__[species], with the three bits of information being separated with two underscores.  
* Wherever the camerasite could not be determined, it was named 'unknown'.
* coordinates for camera locations (rounded to the nearest 10km) can be provided upon request. 
* Most images were taken as images, but 10 datasets (AIV, CCP, KVI, KWV, MLV, RKU, RMV, SOI, W2V, WMV) contain images extracted from videos. 
* 8 datasets (WLG, IDA, ICC, ORI, MIS, ENA, CTE, SWG) are cleaned versions of the publically available dataset from Lila.Science, selected for New Zealand species only
* Images containing humans have been deleted for privacy reasons

FILE SUMMARIES
* the 'yyyymmdd_aggregate.csv' file contains summary information, most notably the number of images per species per dataset. 
* the 'yyyymmdd_all_footage_currently_here.csv' file contains data for each individual file in the AI_training folder.
* whenever new datasets are added to this bucket, the two obsolete .csvs get added to the folder "_OLD_footage_summaries"
* 23 datasets (BAD, BAH, BWS, CMF ,CRW ,EBF ,EL1, EM1, ES1, HC4, HPM, MTI, N01, N02, N04, N06, N08, OTR, ST2, TRK, UV1, WRO) are being held back for independent testing of AI tools. Though these images are not publically available, their information is retained in both the 'all footage currently here' and 'aggregate' files.

* the folder '_boxed_animals' contains as small amount of reptile images, with their associated bounding boxes, specificially for Megadetector training
